Lisa Gaertner

reeder/Owner

I have owned cockers for more than 36 years, starting with my first, a beautiful buff boy named Danny. My heart has always been close to the breed because of their loving temperaments and gentle nature, which is what I strive to continue in my breeding program. I breed to the cocker standard of the AKC and ASC (American Spaniel Club), to produce happy, well-socialized puppies that are great for the show ring, as well as wonderful merry pet companions.

I am an AKC Silver Breeder of Merit, a member of the American Spaniel Club, on the Board of Directors of the Cocker Spaniel Club of New Jersey, and the Treasurer of the Keystone Cocker Spaniel Club, as well as Fundraising Chairperson for the ASC 2022 National Specialty.

Beyond all the ribbons won (Multi-International Best In Shows, Owner-Handled Best in Shows, Westminster, Best Puppy In Shows, etc), my fondest memories are of delivering and raising the puppies in the heart of my home. With my best friend Sandy, we work as a team to help the girls bring the babies into this world. It’s hard to describe the feeling, but it’s emotional and awe-inspiring. It’s truly the miracle of life. One that I am so blessed to be a part of and thank God for everyday!

SANDY PLATT MANTIONE

Breeder

Sandy has always had a deep love of animals. Growing up, her family owned rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, cats and dogs, but she calls herself a “dog person”. Sandy, a local Real Estate Agent and Handywoman, grew up with a pure bred German Shepherd, but as an adult has owned a Chow, Yellow Lab, 5 Beagles, a Husky mix and her true canine love, the Golden Retrievers. Sandy’s family shares her passion for pets so much that her family are a “foster family” for a local rescue & have sheltered and placed over 2 dozen puppies and dogs over the years.

When Sandy met Lisa through their real estate business, the two bonded over their shared passion for animals. When Lisa decided she wanted to start breeding her Cocker Spaniels, Sandy was right by her side. From building a custom whelping box to breathing life back into a struggling puppy, Sandy has done it all and loved every second of it. Though Sandy does not share Lisa’s love for grooming dogs, she does also enjoy the show circuit. Sandy's newest show prospect Maisie, will be hitting the ring soon with handler Ginny Kincer. Watch for her coming soon!
